I've historically not been a fan of Bluesky's moderation practices myself (I've heard that they are puritanical in some ways). However, we should be wary of making these kinds of insinuations.

Show thread

This should go without saying but suggesting that Bluesky's Trust & Safety Head is somehow a child predator because he won't moderate a specific user who apparently holds hateful views is not okay.

🎎🍵CAMELLIA TEA CEREMONY🌺🍡

The calm, cold, quiet days of winter are almost over, and the fragrant plum blossoms herald warmer days ahead.

Before the trickle of visitors becomes a flood, let me take the time to show you around our teahouses, and explain what services we offer🙇‍♂️

However, if someone takes issue with cases like that, it's strange to call for less review.

Without someone manually reviewing it, it also means automatically accusing someone of being a criminal to the police.

A while ago, there was a bit of a scandal over someone's Google account being terminated over photos taken for medical purposes. They could never get it back. It's not clear it was an algorithm, a human moderator is unlikely to consider that either.

And think about how many services one company might operate, someone might lose access to a lot of things based on an algorithm accusing them of something.

"Someone shouldn't review hits for CSAM, they should let the algorithm do it's thing."
Someone said something like that. Except, there are issues like false positives, questions about the curation of the data (yes, there are cases where something is erroneously included), and so forth.

"Not all AI moderation is bad, there's sentiment analy-"
No, no, no, no, no. That would be hideously inaccurate.

With these superpower anime, it is more like each character having their own superpower. With magic, they get trained in particular spells.

For a more conventional magic academy (well, superpowers) , there is Gakuen Alice. Or I suppose there is always My Hero Academia.

Munou na Nana was an interesting . I probably shouldn't tell you too much, so I'll just say it's about an academy with a bunch of characters with superpowers. There are a lot of twists and turns.

There is a flaw in the premise, the plot treats people with even slightly useful abilities as if they are as strong as Superman but it's not really a big deal.

"Authorities in eastern have imposed a sweeping ban on rap music, the latest move in a broader crackdown on artistic expression in the conflict-riven country."

Looks like KOSMA is a bit different from KOSA. I haven't looked at it closely yet.

One thing I can think of off the bat is that trying to remove potential minors off platforms could lead to false positives / censorship (i.e. what if someone plays a cartoon / anime character, I'm going by reports of what happened on Instagram / Twitch).

I saw a bad take about "personal info being concealed on a small website".

There are plenty of reasons why someone might not want to make their personal info public, particularly if they are a one man show. Harassment for one.

🤔The 'meditative drop' is made from gotu kola (Asiatic pennywort) and flavoured with yuzu oil (from fruit grown at the temple).

At the heart of the sweet (letting you know your meditation is over) is cedar powder, believed to help with digestion🍬🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️🧘🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️🧘🙌
