For the next update, I'm not planning on changing any underlying points, it is going to be more of a supplement.

One thing I'm thinking on commenting on is Covid (although, sometimes there is a better way to bring up a particular point, so that plan might change).

Well, they tended to fund various weird faith-based therapies and things without him being personally slotted into a position.

Rather curiously, he even appointed himself as the minister of science, and there were indeed bad science takes at that time, although maybe it's a coincidence.

An odd thing about the previous LNP Federal Government in Australia though is that the Prime Minister actually secretly appointed himself to various ministerial positions without even telling the people in those positions.

Things like this do happen. For instance, the Shadow Minister for Youth from the Liberal National Party in NSW, Australia appears to have been arrested for child abuse (and historically, his party have had bad takes).

I see someone has accused conspiracy guy of being a secret child abuser for being so obsessed with small things.

Well, I think there are reasons other than being American to not know about that.

If you don't know how shadow cabinets work, maybe you are American, there is the Prime Minister who leads up the government, then there are various "ministers" who are appointed (from elected politicians) to run particular areas.

The opposition (the largest party other than the one in power) creates their own "cabinet", a shadow cabinet, basically, with people who sit there criticizing the government.

Also, going by commentary on it, Mozilla seemed to run their fedi instance really badly, so is one less badly run instance that much of a loss?

That aside though, launching new projects, wasting time on them, only to shutter them later, is something which Mozilla seems to do a lot.

Remember that Mozilla has always been a company which chases "new things". In fact, one of them even blames wasting time on trying to build an OS or whatever for failing to improve their web browser.

They're still doing the thing with KOSA where they change the language a bit but there are still plenty of problems...?

Let's see if I can compile some asks with surveys.

I don't use these particular surveys though for a number of reasons, including relevance.

The grifter flies in, poops everywhere, flies out, and leaves it to others to clean up the mess.

Can I go back to just working on my draft and stuff? Don't want to deal with grifters.

As a rule of thumb, if it comes from an org with a title about saving the children or something, then they're probably not going to come up with quality data or claims.

It is honestly rich that someone who does lower quality surveys would put himself on a moral high horse over someone purportedly doing lower quality surveys.

In fact, I think there is a large newspaper in the U.K. which used to put a topless 16 year old in one of the first pages. This happened decades ago (the law on that has since been changed), but it's not implausible that the "child porn" points could apply to that.

So, then, someone might be treated as a "current offender" by the grifter in the statistics for flicking through a major newspaper back then.

It might have been founded a bit before that, but honestly, 2022, 2023, there isn't really a meaningful difference there.

It's worth considering that he only appears to have founded, or should I say registered, his "think of the children" org last year.

One of the tenets of the org is that "studies" should be carried out once, and not replicated by anyone else, which is curious.
