Just dipped my toes into #BasisVR, a #VRChat-like decentralized system/framework for social VR.
One of the issues with current implementations of #socialVR generally is instances are all being run on a centralized service, so when that goes to hell by asteroid or pocketbook, so too goes the entire service; the exodus that happens is problematic.
With Basis and a proper federated backend like #ActivityPub or did:web, we could have the first social VR “non-platform” truly for the masses.

If you don't know about the bookworm anime, Ascendance of a Bookworm is an anime about a librarian. She gets reincarnated into a medieval fantasy world and is super into making / reading books.

It's particularly annoying when someone has their own website they could serve a file from, and there is a link (from there) to Google Drive, and it literally just contains a single file (like a PDF).

Well, it works for bridging posts out of Bluesky but not for bridging posts into it right now.
I'll get around to experimenting with a blog but I've been watching some interesting developments lately.
The bridge going down for days on end is a good example of everything that is wrong with Bluesky.
Apparently, Bluesky is upgrading some infra and the bridge is down until that is done.
With the Overlord anime / novel (frankly, someone should probably read the novel as it has extra information), the main character is very powerful with loyal followers. However, he is also comically bad at management and doesn't know what is going on a lot of the time, and is kind of like "yeah, yeah" to his subordinates.
If he says any random word though, the subordinates take it as some brilliant plan which they implement and are like "brilliant plan, supreme one". Sometimes, he accidentally does something "brilliant".
His background was just an ordinary salaryman who liked to play MMO games before being transported.
