@seancaptain

There's a 't' in the second paragraph where I think there should be a period.

"As a result, people are flocking to Mastodon, the decentralized, open-source network t As"

@seancaptain

I just finished reading your article. Really well done. I learned a lot about communities and about Mastadon itself. (The "Federation" thing was a little bit of a mystery to me.)

Here's something I don't understand about people: if there's a conversation going on about discrimination in a group, then why does anyone outside of that group feel compelled to step in?

How about just STFU and read what other people experience and take it as just that. They have an experience that might be different than yours.

It would be like a group of people discussing how much they disliked a movie and someone else trying to convince them that they're wrong and should really like it.

I actually get that on RunPee sometimes when people disagree with my review. It's my review dude. Disagree, but don't tell me that I'm wrong.

Anyway, I'll stop ranting. Thanks for getting my blood pressure up this morning. 🙂

@polygeek Good points. My guess is that majority/dominant-group people really want to believe that discrimination doesn't exist. Maybe they are afraid that (for example) if some Whites are prejudiced that would mean that all Whites are prejudiced/bad - meaning them, too. So they get defensive?

@seancaptain

Yeah, I guess that tracks. White people need to get a grip.
