The @Iconfactory has 16.1k “followers” on Twitter and currently about 4.1k here on Mastodon. Our last post received a whopping 9 likes and 3 retweets on Twitter and an amazing 287 favorites and 163 boosts here on Mastodon.

This has been said before by many people but Twitter isn’t worth your time any more. People don’t SEE what you’re saying there, even if they actually follow you. The service is in big, BIG trouble.

Also, thx for following @Iconfactory here, we appreciate all of you 💕🖖

@kravietz

That's not the point. Whatever the reason, laughing at a region without water is possible only in a Nazi nation.

Put yourself in my shoes and tell me if I should believe an anonymous account on a social network or videos like the one I sent you.

If you don't find a way to disprove the cruelty of that show you will confirm what I think: the Russians are right and you are manipulated by propaganda like most western Ukrainians.

@MeroFromVero

If the production of the goods were close to where the demand is instead of a global market that would be even better.

@kravietz

The genocide that the Ukrainian Nazis were carrying out in Donbass was documented for 8 years by independent journalists from various countries including Italy.

But I'm curious to hear how you will try to justify this bastard that is Zelensky who as a comedian on television in 2014 made fun of the Crimeans left without water by Kiev:

rumble.com/v1r3z40-october-25t

Such a transmission can only take place in a country that has been transformed into Nazi Germany and Russian ethnicity is the target of their racism.

@kravietz

Zelensky is sending Ukrainians to their deaths at the behest of the US and UK, the Ukrainian army recruits civilians and sends them to the front without training and the Nazis force civilians to go into battle by threatening to kill them as deserters.

@kravietz

> sending waves of poorly prepared, freshly mobilized infantry being applied by Russian command today in their invasion on Ukraine

It's the opposite and it couldn't be more obvious.

@bekieark @forelioned

Over the years the pseudo-skeptics about these phenomena have often changed their minds (those intellectually honest) and the annoying wanna-be debunkers have made a fool of themselves.

There has never been any reason to call *pseudo-science* the work by those who have conducted scientific experiments and published the results in scientific journals like everyone else.

Science is made up of controversies that are respectfully discussed and it is those who are in a hurry to call the others' work *pseudo-science* who are the real pseudo-scientists.

> I’m actually quite upset with myself for having let my guard down.

Not entirely your fault: this place has changed a lot since the recent diaspora from Twitter.

I’ll probably run out of air before folks get this but, hey, one more time for those in the back:

If you’re creating “alternatives to #BigTech” that scale vertically, you’re doing it wrong. You’ll never beat Big Tech at vertical scale. They invented the game. They’ll destroy you at it every time. And say you somehow do manage it… congratulations, you’ve just become *checks notes* Big Tech. *golf claps*

So what do you do?

You limit vertical scale and #design for horizontal scale.

Don't you feel "provided far more corpses" is disrespectful towards 25 000 000 dead from USSR? 15% of the total population, 4 times the percentage of the dead of all the nations involved.

And as I said, they didn't destroy any cities with carpet bombing like the US and the UK did, carrying out war crimes and terrorism.

@johncarlosbaez IMO most of the problems in this list are political and not mathematical in nature. For example safeguards for AI: even if we get some mathematical solutions, I don't see them being used by the companies that make AI systems unless it is profitable to do so, or they are mandated by governments. Not to mention that legislating those mandates is a really difficult problem.

@johncarlosbaez

> ways that mathematicians can help humanity face many urgent problems

What about ?

I suggest to watch this video:

Faggin is exactly the opposite of the cold mathematician, he even experienced an altered state of consciousness that changed his life in a "mystical" way. His is a very empathic approach:

@ianbetteridge @ianbetteridge So long as they are genuine neo-Nazis that would do worse than punch to the people they hate, I agree with you. Not if they are simply, idk, anti-abortion protesters, or white people who don't like "positive" discrimination (for reasons of fairness, not white supremacy).

As for the poems, idk why but the second one seems to have less force than the first one. Probably just because I'm more used to the first one, though.
