@psmaldino @chasnew Wait, is the social psychology framing that these are literally two different systems? Not just a shorthand mental model?
@psmaldino @zefferman My impression is that some of them take it literally. Psychology seems to work mostly with mental model anyway. So it’s literal enough at the level of their analysis.
@zefferman @psmaldino But tbh my point was less about system 1 vs system 2 but more about thinking of all types of reason-based decision-making as heuristics.
@psmaldino I guess cogsci folks just don’t use psych framing so it’s more of an implicit understanding and not explicitly argued.
