It's generally known that Mary Shelley single-handedly invented science fiction when she wrote Frankenstein in 1818. Only, over 150 years earlier Margaret Cavendish was writing stories of parallel universes, microscopic cities, human animal hybrids, zombie armies, and flying vehicles.

If, like me, you had barely heard of her before, you'll enjoy this episode of the podcast Imaginary Worlds. More people should know about her and her works.
