If Apple doesn’t add the ability to do this in Mobile Safari in the next few weeks they’re going to motivate me to install another browser on my phone…

@GeekAndDad DuckDuckGo both functions as “Google web” and lets you define and use !gw prefixes on any search. It can be set as your default search engine in mobile safari, which I think delivers what you’re looking for?
