The #AAS has followed the example of the #RAS to clarified that That Which Shall Not Be Named shall indeed not be named (or at least its name need not be spelled out).

This can only be a stopgap until #NASA gets it act together and finds a more deserving name for the great observatory.

The AAS style guide is quite interesting in other aspects: For example, IDL is singled out as an acronym which doesn't need to be spelled out - I wonder how long a majority of astronomers no longer knows what it is?

@TillSawala hmm, I think it's been 24 years since I had to use IDL. It was not my favorite!

I think it's in the category of acronyms which are misleading if spelled out. There are lots of interactive data languages; IDL is just one of them.
