It’s weird to me that I’ve been out of the #structuralengineering industry for a bit, and I’m now being contacted at least once a week by engineering companies that have software or analytic positions and are now having a hard time filling them (some have been open for months, or even well over a year).

Back when I *wanted* that kind of role, these companies wouldn’t give me the time of day.

Now that I have *software engineer* on my resume, I’m suddenly considered a worthy candidate?

@mclare These are structural engineering positions or software positions?

@radehi software for a structural eng company, usually to be the wizard behind the curtain or spreadsheet czar.

@mclare I see. I guess didn't want to be your first software-engineer employer, and have unrealistic expectations around hiring software people. Their loss!
