I just realized, I am using a 9 year old Laptop and it's rally all I could ask for, this time really was the peak of laptop engineering!

Mine is about the same manufacture year however its an Acer. Only real issue for me is a small case crack from wear and tear and the battery is shot. The HD started dying a year or so ago but after putting in a cheap SSD it runs near good as new. Plus with the speed difference and a large swap I don't even notice how weak the ram is. One day I'll upgrade but it's hard to justify the cost while it runs.

@ramob @rookie Also I really see no improvement in terms of computing power when I compare my x220 to my x260. Also the experience of having a x260 was that it broke when I changed the hard drive because of a shitty design choice when it comes to the HDD cable. I have a x260 but the x220/x230 are my devices of choice, I really regret of wasting my money on a x260.

@tinfoil-hat @rookie good to know, I was debating on getting a lenovo until I got my Pinebook Pro from from #Pine64. If I was doing anything more than school then I'd need something better than these two...maybe. But for now they're meshing perfectly.

@ramob @rookie Well the x260 has an unbeatable advantage over the older models, and this is the battery duration. If you heavily rely on being on the go the x260 is really great. the battery lasted on a debian based OS up to 10 hours when I did some light terminal tasks and some light browsing. the x220/x230 seem to never beat the 4h on a debian based OS.

@tinfoil-hat I haven't done legitimate testing yet but I've been using the Pinebook Pro off/on mainly browsing (mastodon/school/notes in a word processor or markdown) and it claims it'll go at least 10...we'll see though. I've heard some lenovos have two batteries allowing hot swap which sounds interesting. but with longer battery life seems impractical. @rookie
