Since there are 3GB replacement mainboards available now for the #pinephone I made a video on the process of replacing the board:

@martijnbraam this seems very doable :o even for my shaky hands.
I wouldn't have expected upgradable phones to be a thing after non-removable batteries and non-stamdard screws have kind of become the norm.
Progress :)

@vancha @martijnbraam I've never been one to be 'waiting' for my phone to break before to justify a purchase...

@ramob @martijnbraam hmm, I don't think I've ever broke a phone at all.
And if my first phone was as fast as it was when I bought it, I'd probably still use that phone.
Every android phone I've had at some point becomes unbearable to use, because it's either to slow, unsupported by most apps, and so forth.
If only android phones all had their hardware drivers mainlined, then I think we'd be in a very different scenario?

@vancha come to think of it...I've only had one or two phones that I can recall for sure that 'broke' which realistically I could have replaced the screen. But as you said Android and iOS for the most part what does them in is they either slow, become unsupported, or an internal battery that made it more economical to just buy a new one. @martijnbraam
