@catgirl follow them
@ravenclaw I can't...
I has the Linux. 😿
It's the horrible disease which renders you incapable of running any kind of software or hardware which specifically fucks with user rights to try and gain an unfair advantage in the marketplace.
@ravenclaw Not that I'm trying to frame it that way for ideological reasons, I mean quite literally, Facebook shut down Oculus' hardware drivers for Linux in order to build their walled garden for the device(s) instead.
@catgirl i glad that you escaped from windows.
But think again doing vr thing with your homies is really fun
@catgirl cool! not many people used steam proton since it looked like a console type os.
Does running windows inside virtualbox still a thing ?
@ravenclaw Running Windows inside VirtualBox and VMWare is still... plausible, but generally impractical, mostly because it's a pain to get actual hardware driver support set up for decent 3D rendering, and even then it won't render entirely accurate (lots of rendering issues) and strict anticheats will still detect the custom drivers and go "Hmmmmm, I'm inside a VirtualBox? That's no good." and ban you anyway.
@catgirl
> Hmmmmmm, I'm inside a VirtualBox? That's no good
Lmao
@ravenclaw Destiny 2, seriously!
It's just an MMO, what am I gonna do with the graphics drivers, see through walls or something?
... I don't know if that would help or not because I can't play it at all, instead.
@catgirl
>it's just a mmo, what i'm gonna do with the graphic driver, see trough walls or something?
ikr!
@ravenclaw "Steam Proton" is actually what Valve calls their collection of "Wine plus a bunch of extensions and custom settings", nyaa. It works well and made a lot of headway and development that feeds back into the projects it was built from.
