Long ago I bought many pairs of identical socks for everyday and workwear. I also bought a mesh laundry bag. Take off socks, put in the bag, when I wash towels I zip the bag closed and put in with them. Take out of the dryer and dump into the back of a basket of the exact same socks. Done. No matching, no fuss. If one gets lost I have many more just like it. Bought three sets of six pairs for a total of 18 pairs. Cheap and will last a long time as each sock is not worn that often. American made cotton Wigwam brand. The bag is from England and has a Velcro cover for the zipper so it does not bang into the sides of the dryer.
I have a few pairs of identical dress socks for the rare time I need those.
One of life's little problems solved.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk 😉

@rdaily I could have sworn when you began this that it would end with “and still they go missing!”

@rdaily I used a lingerie bag to put my bikini tops in on washing day. The bag keeps the other laundry going ‘round and ‘round from getting all tangled up, which has happened…thus the lingerie bag.

@rdaily great idea, but mom has to use dah bags with a plastic zipper so as not to ruin her other items in the same load. Plus, dog fur sticks to dah Velcro cuz'... Shelties

@666k9s The zipper is plastic, only the little tab you pull it closed with is metal. The Velcro is just big enough to cover that.
