Is figgy pudding like Turkish delight? Not in the sense that they might be in any way similar, more in the “that first-contact feeling of astonishment that people somehow praise this flavour” sense. My reaction the first and only time I tried Turkish Delight was about that kid in Narnia: “wtf is going on with English cooking, if you’d sell out your friends for _this_!?”
