@nop I feel that no matter how much new social networks pop up, it will be extremely difficult for them to catch on due the popularity of the current ones.

That being said, even if these new sites don't make it big, i think it would be good to have them stick around and act as separated niche communities (like the fediverse) where you can talk more freely and with like-minded people, a bit farther from the noise of mainstream social networks.

Although convenient, Twitter now prioritizes monetization by advertisers and information product sellers over individual communication due to its large scale

Bluesky seems to be a decentralized social network composed of multiple instances, similar to Mastodon.
Whether it will be like Fediverse or Twitter remains to be seen.
