When I watched the Terminator movies years ago, the idea of Skynet seemed far-fetched, but seeing the natural responses of ChatGPT, I sometimes wonder if that day will come. I think top IT companies have big moral issues (even those with slogans like "Don't be evil," like Google), so I don't know if AI development will move in the ethical direction. On the other hand, conversations with ChatGPT are very interesting, and there is also a fun side to the evolution of AI.

@nop We need to determine if AI can process and interpret actions that it sees through video feeds, and respond accordingly. Once we witness robots like Boston Dynamics' Atlas equipped with AI, reacting to their environment in real time, we'll know that the time has come.

We're currently experiencing a moment of change that may be comparable only to the industrial revolution. It's both scary to consider the possibilities but also i feel fortunate to live in such a transformative period.

@ryuichi
Software is advancing rapidly, so if there is a technological breakthrough in hardware, it may be possible to create androids like those in sci-fi movies. It would be better if they were of the R2-D2 type rather than the Terminator or Blade Runner type :blobcat3c:
