At my workplace, there's this ridiculous rule to set the screensaver timeout to 5 minutes for security purposes. However, everyone uses software that automatically moves the mouse pointer to prevent the screensaver from activating. It's ironic because this actually decreases the security level instead :blobcatcoffee:

@nop why would they need that software to prevent the sotware from appearing? it is too troublesome deactivating screensaver? (like, does it need the password?)

@ryuichi When the machine remains idle for 5 minutes, the screensaver activates, requiring a password to be entered. However, by using a software that randomly moves the mouse pointer every 10 seconds, the machine's idle state is constantly interrupted :ablobcatbongokeyboard:
