@ambv @mariatta but that also means that there will be less quality content on here. Many I’m sure are still focusing mostly on Twitter, so cross-posting primary posts (not RTs), particularly if they don’t have Twitter-specific references should be OK
I realise that those who’ve been here long will resent this, but it’s the price to pay for becoming a little more popular, I guess
@s_gruppetta @mariatta I specifically mention retweets, which are particularly problematic, and I specifically don't voice my own opinion but relay what the existing users of Mastodon expect. I'm not a good target to try to bargain with about this.
Retweets are particularly bad because they are cut to 140 characters in the Twitter API and so have to include a link on Mastodon to literally drive you away. And the at-names in the retweet are all wrong. Ergo, it's low-quality content.
