question: What are the pros of autodeleting toots? Only people who browse you profile will ever see them after the initial posting and any boosts, so why not leave them there?

@s_gruppetta
I see it like this: this is mainly a conversation between ppl, not always very relevant stuff, there are admins sustaining this, there are huge databases, servers, global warming,... I prefer to remove toots after two weeks. If I want some information to be saved I can bookmark the toot and it will be kept in the DB.

So, is it relevant a toot in one year? My answer would be NO most of the times so, why keep it forever?

And it's only a POV. I don't want to convince anyone 😉

@s_gruppetta Bigger instances are happy when you delete them, to save some disk storage – at least when you are attached images to it. The rest is more like privacy thing.

@s_gruppetta Beyond the good answers here about storage space, there might also be a privacy dimension as well. I could see a lot of folks not wanting old posts just vibing out there, waiting for trolls to resurface out of context.
