@stevesilberman Thank you so much for NeuroTribes. It was one of the most important books I read after my son’s DX. Made me a much better advocate. Notably, gave me a much better outlook. Fantastic read that I recommend to all I come across when we talk about our neuro diverse families.

Elon/Twitter context

The garbagefire that Twitter has become is nothing unusual for its current owner. It's Elon's standard operating procedure - but this time it will burn the company to the ground. businessinsider.com/elon-musk-

Things just seem so crazy today.
I mean, can you imagine say in the 1930s if the richest automobile executive in America was also a media owner who used his platform to encourage anti-Semitism and allied himself with a foreign dictator waging a territory-expansion war in Europe?

I feel sorry for the #autistic young folks whose passionate interests are space or electric vehicles who thought they'd found a neurocousin in the formerly richest man on Earth. Role models with integrity are important. #neurodiversity

Holy wow! This new infrared image of Jupiter’s moon Io from the Juno spacecraft shows volcanoes, lava flows and lava lakes glowing with heat radiation!

The atmospheric earthworks of the deserted #medieval village of Nobold, Northants., first recorded in 1284.The hollowed main street runs down the centre of the photo. The bumpy earthworks of abandoned, rectangular house plots defined by ditches to the sides and back line both sides of the street. And the ridges of medieval cultivation are also clearly visible. 1/n

@juddlegum
Because the seditionists remained in office, Rep Ralph Norman was re-elected. The DOJ only went after the Jan 6 insurrectionists, not the political ringleaders so we lost the House to terrorists. All of the coup plotters won. Now that Repubs have the House, watch the alacrity with which they'll pursue all vengeful channels. What moderate Dems don't understand is this is what builds their base, their army of voters. We could've built the base instead.

Elon's Twitter is a bit like if a high school turned over the school newspaper to the school's TPUSA chapter and the Ayn Rand Objectivists club and gave them access to all of the students' records and teachers' emails.

Just finished Children Of Memory by @aptshadow .

Loved it just as much as the previous two books in the series. His ability to conjure up believable, yet very alien and very different characters continues to be both impressive and slightly concerning.

The story itself was a great mix of mystery, exploration, and survival sci-fi with an undercurrent of horror that like the non-human intelligences in the previous books, had a flavour all of its own distinct from what we'd seen previously.

@bensen @fcain Bonus meteor information:

Vaporized meteoroid sodium persists in a layer 80-100 km up. It emits at the same 589 nm yellow-orange wavelength of sodium vapor street lights.

We can illuminate it with a laser to increase the emission and make a guide star for adaptive optics.

Have you heard of the “Global Climate Wall?”

I stumbled across this report by @transnationalinstitute while doing some research on #climateChange #migration and militarized borders.

The report shows that the countries most responsible for perpetuating climate breakdown in vulnerable countries (by emitting roughly half of the world’s GHGs)—are also currently militarizing their borders against the migrants they are inadvertently forcing to leave their homes.

We found proof, for the first time, photochemistry happening in an exoplanet. That means UV light triggering chemical reactions.
Photochemistry is fundamental to life on Earth: it makes ozone, which protects us from harsh UVs.
