There might also be something about ginger beer that makes a sugar-free version less tasty. I'm just speculating without any basis, but I recently bought some diet ginger beer by mistake and it tasted pretty awful (and I don't usually mind diet drinks)

I've seen them turn up in health-food stories here in Ontario, Canada, from time-to-time and the ones I tried were delicious.
