Twitter used to be our main marketing tool--the primary way we sold books online and got the word out.

These days, not so much.

Please help support us and our authors with a signal boost! We are an independent publisher based in Chennai with books on folklore from different parts of India, graphic novels, ghost encyclopedias, weird horror, pulp fiction in translation, and some wonderfully strange little zines.

I don’t get the No Labels party. Like, I get that politicians on both sides are bad, but the solution isn’t a ticket with one from each party. The solution is obviously to elect better democrats.

I've started adding an extra credit question to all my exams that is, in a nutshell, "Describe, in detail, some topic you studied for the exam but that the exam did not cover".

Most of the responses I get are of the form "I found <thing> really interesting and studied it in great detail, but you didn't ask me enough about it and I want to talk about it more."

This is super rewarding.

Fun fact: PTC, the company behind #Mathcad can get fucked sideways with the Empire State Building.

My dad has a license for Mathcad 14 that he paid for with his own money as well as the original installation media. When he registered it he put the company he worked for in the organization field. I can’t install it on a different computer because of some stupid shit with the license file and some “hostid” issue that I couldn’t figure out how to fix it with any info online.

Meanwhile because at the time of purchase he needlessly put his employer in the organization field and can’t stop over sharing and mentioned that he’s retired they refused to help him on phone support.

I gave up on that and tried to look into open source software called Maxima but I could not get it to run.

So now he’s got an old laptop running a vm with a backup drive that I hope outlasts his obsession with having this software available to him.

If it's not too late, can we trade the next six soulless seasons of Rick and Morty for like three amazing seasons of Venture Bros?

I’m old enough to remember the first TED talk.
It was most excellent.

If you’re at the right place at the right time, with the right equipment, this is possible.

Last night, with guidance from transit-finder.com/, I positioned myself along the narrow line where the International #SpaceStation would pass between me and the nearly full moon.

I used a Fujifilm X-T4 shooting 4K video through a Celestron 8” SCT to capture the pass. Then, back at the computer this morning, put together these views with PIPP, Registax, and GIMP.

Quite pleased. My best yet.
