Actually... I guess I should finally admit to myself that I have a bit of a problem at the moment. I am feeling depressed (although it's not nearly as bad as it used to be), my sleeping pattern is out of sync with my life & daily requirements, I can't get out of bed in the morning and have no motivation for nothing.

If someone would tell me the same things about themselves, I would be like, "that's obviously depression!" But if it's myself, it's somehow harder to notice and I'm just like "I'm a bad person and really should try harder!" 🤦‍♀️ 🙄

@KAOS You might try mindfulness meditation. Every morning my kids and I read from a meditation book for ~10 minutes and then do a 20 minute meditation. Self-compassion is one benefit that I've experienced. Right now we're reading "The Buddha's Brain". I recommend it.

@thalweg Thanks, but I'm just not the meditation type. Doesn't work for me.
And I usually feel worst in the morning (which is typical for depression), especially if I can't distract myself with something.
