I don't think I can make the exams tomorrow. I already ask for postponement by next next week for EDA. I hope Calc2 and MatSci will also follow.
I still need practice for calc2 specially on complicated integrals involving trigonometric substitution and integration by parts.
For MatSci I am have not covered the needed chapters yet same also for EDA.
The vibe in the university is unlike the one where I took the 1st semester of 1st year BSEE.
While the previous university is more rigid following a module schedule and has lots of trivial hardness typical of undergraduate engineering here in PH, the current university has more of the vibe of the University of The Philippines where there is less if not the absence of trivial hardness and more academic freedom.
First time to encounter semi-finals. In my first degree BS Computer Science and during the time I was taking MS Computer Science we never had Semi-finals.
In the university where I transferred to recently for the BSEE program first year second semester, they have Semi-finals exams.
Alright. Next week is midterms and I will be taking exams on both prelims and midterms for the courses Calculus 2 and Material Science Engineering.
For the quizes they gave me leeway, so I was given prelims and midterms quizes take home for both Calculus 2 and Material Science Engineering.
For Engineering Data Analysis, the instructor gave me a flexible option of either taking prelims or midterms or both including the quizes.
Good thing I studied Single Variable Calculus from MIT OCW and read on the integral calculus topics such as Riemann Sums, 1st and 2nd fundamental theorems of Calculus as it gave me the foundation.
The new university does not have modules to spoon feed the students, I will have to read the textbook on Calculus to learn.
I am officially enrolled now and though it is a victory because I am able to get in to 2nd semester but on another university although late at this time, it is a challenge because I need to cram to make up for prelims and midterms.
I got 3 courses for this second semester of BSEE first year:
- Calculus 2 (Integral Calculus)
- Engineering Data Analysis
- Material Science and Engineering
Funny.
I bought a chicken covered in dough and cooked. It was handed to me in a small paperbag and after eating I crumpled the paperbag with my left hand. It felt soft before I totally crushed it.
The moment I crushed it, it popped and damn, ketchup all over my jeans on the left thigh and lower left part of my top.
WTF 😅
At the university in a long queue for payment on certified true copy of grades document for the BSEE and after this will start processing of clearance for the release of the transfer credential documents.
I hope by tomorrow I can get the certified true copy of grades and proceed to the university where I will be transferring, together with my copy of transcript from BS and MS computer science, so that evaluation for credits can start and enrollment for 2nd semester BSEE.
Inquired to three universities today.
The first one offering BSEE is ABET but damn the cost, it's for the rich 😅. I am not convinced to spend that amount for a BSEE Program.
The second one another university in the countryside that is a bit expensive than my previous university from last year and they said they will accept me to late enroll this second semester. I've checked their BSEE curriculum and I have more major courses available for this second semester but I'm afraid I'll be able to accommodate only 2 or 3 courses because I will have to make up for the prelims so it will demand more effort.
In addition, the second university has 2 physics courses in their curriculum as opposed to only 1 from my previous university last year.
The third university where I went to inquire was the one from last year but they are not accepting late enrollees for this second semester and my option with them will be to wait out for the first semester for this year but the only physical education course will be available for me which is a bummer. So that means I will have to wait until another second semester next year and will be a waste of my time.
Conclusion is that I will be transferring to the second university.
Not sure yet which of the following courses will fall on a suitable schedule for me but let see:
- Integral Calculus
- Engineering Data Analysis
- Material Science and Engineering
- Computer Aided Drafting
