On the open source side we have Ollama from Meta, Mixtral from Mistral, Qwen from Alibaba Cloud, Gemma from Google, Phi from Microsoft, DeepSeek from DeepSeek AI, and GPT-OSS from OpenAI.

I didn't know there's lots of open source AI models.

Removing KMSpico including it's tampering of the environment variables broke my Cursor IDE and the OWASP Dependency Check update pull from NIST.

Fix is set the tampered environment variables to the correct paths and restart the IDEs

Alright so some of the findings of the scan is actually a false positive specific to the group of files under the git repo clone on my local from the AI Engineering course.

The rest came from KMSPico tool used by the seller of this machine to me where Windows 10 Pro is already bundled. Looks like the KMSpico they have is compromised.

Malwarebytes Free has removed the threats.

MS Defender is not enough and I forgot to upgrade my Windows OS still stuck at 10 Pro. I need to move to Windows 11 or Linux.

Malwarebytes Free saw 23 threats on my machine just now. Some are Trojans, some are Bitcoin miners. 🧐

In the meantime I am setting all my virtual desktops again because I have a dedicated virtual desktop for the metaverse client viewer, I have one for security monitoring of my system including VPN, I have one for emails and social media, then another one for studies like AI Engineering and MIT-OCW including running the Cursor IDE for the AI Engineering course, also another one for coding in Java on the coding exercise for the service, then another one for C coding.
