Hey everyone! A quick intro:

My name is Noah Louis-Ferdinand. I'm the comms lead for a public health nonprofit, a recent graduate of Stanford, and I've been writing on health-related topics for about a year now via Twitter + my blog. Most of my recent work is on COVID misinformation but I was originally interested in chronic illness (as a patient myself). I hope to write more about that soon. #TwitterMigration #MedTwitter #Science

@Noah you are covering a frustrating topic. When pandemic started I was completely puzzled how a large proportion of a public in a first world country with 100% literacy rate failed to grasp how physical barrier - masks, distance and hand & surface sanitizing will help to prevent the spreading of the virus. Not to mention the inability of grasping simple math (hospital beds vs hospital needs) and vaccine hesitancy. I was looked upon as a complete idiot for being vaccinated and having my kids vaccinated. None of us contracted covid as far as we know. Good luck.

@tyAnT Thanks for the encouragement. It has been emotionally fraught, no doubt. I do try not to get mad at ordinary people as I've been in the hospital with a few COVID patients these past years. It's fair to feel frustrated with the people around us but we need to focus on the misinformers themselves to make a difference.
