Good question. Did use manjaro-chroot and tried reinstalling grub and update-grub as well. Mount the nvme1n1p1 efi as /boot/efi at some point as part of above process. Didn't check the efibootmgr, but this is also my work laptop so there's a point where after a couple evenings trying, starting from scratch appeared faster than fiddling around

I did get lost somewhere in the process and I wish I would have fixed it but the boot loader is a dark art. Refer to original meme on partitioning ;)
