Black smoke was coming out of my "new" car, which caused me to have to frantically re-register the farm truck, desperately hope it would start, spend 45 min trying to dig it out of snow and get it un-stuck, and then drove it into the city (farm trucks are not city trucks... really no trucks are city trucks...)

Arrived 30 minutes late for my first meeting. But hey, now I'm here to teach my first class!

And hopefully got all the bad shit out of the way, so it'll be perfect. Right? RIGHT?

Biggest downside of living on a rural farm: being 100% dependent on having cars. It doesn't have to be this way, but that's where we are now.

Anyway. This semester can stop being a pile of successive disasters any time now.

Astrobiology is awesome! I can do this.

@sundogplanets I'm curious how you envision avoiding cars in a rural area? i assume you're not considering horses!
