Hi friends -

Wanted to share some daily updates about #MedMastodon:

The exodus from #medtwitter continues: #MedMastodon users doubled for the second day in a row. I'm meeting many new people as well as seeing some familiar faces. This is exciting. It feels less like a ghost town and more like a real community. To all the newcomers, welcome!

Site reliability is much better today. I've scaled up our server & many features seem to be running more smoothly. Let me know if there are any problems.

As I've said, one of the perks of Mastodon is it's a network of communities, instead of one monolithic platform. This means we define what's important for our community.

It also means we can make custom emojis. Many specialties were sadly left out of the emoji game; nephrology & hepatology looking at you!

No longer! So far i've made:
aorta :Aorta:
brain 🧠
heart :heart_anatomical:
lung :lung:
stomach :stomach:
liver :liver:
kidney :renal:
colon :colon:
uterus :uterus:

Send suggestions!

@nick Hi Nick. How can I get into med-mastodon from mastodon.social? I think I chose the wrong server.

@yoncabulutmd

You don't *need* to change (you can follow people on #MedMastodon from any server).

If you *want* to change servers, here's how:

1. Create a new account on @MedMastodon. You can use this invite to navigate there:
med-mastodon.com/invite/4aoetr

2. In your current account (the one you want close). Go to Preference > Account > Moving to a different account

3. Fill in your new @medMastodon handle & password.

4. All of your follows & followers will migrate to the MedMastodon account

Follow

@nick @yoncabulutmd for some reason I'm not able to login anymore. It keeps giving an error that the server can't be reached.
