**Свобода через призму Технологий и Коммуникаций в Интернете**
Свобода – одно из фундаментальных понятий, которым человечество придаёт значение на протяжении всей истории. В современном мире технологии и интернет-коммуникации радикально изменили представление о свободе, открыв новые горизонты самовыражения, информации и взаимодействия. Однако, вместе с этим, они же породили и новые вызовы, связанные с контролем, цензурой и влиянием корпораций.
**Технологии как инструмент освобождения**
Интернет дал людям возможность свободного обмена знаниями, идей, культуры. Открытые протоколы, такие как HTTP, SMTP или ActivityPub, позволили создать альтернативные способы общения вне централизованных систем. Децентрализованные платформы, такие как Mastodon или PeerTube, обеспечивают пользователям свободу выбора, избегая контроля со стороны монополий.
Криптография стала мощным оружием в борьбе за конфиденциальность и цифровую независимость. Шифрованные мессенджеры (Signal, Matrix) защищают личные переписки, а блокчейн-технологии демонстрируют способы отказа от централизованных финансовых структур.
**Когда технологии становятся инструментом несвободы**
Но свобода в интернете не безгранична. Крупные корпорации, такие как Meta, Google и X, создали экосистемы, в которых контроль за информацией и поведенческие алгоритмы влияют на сознание пользователей. Цензура, слежка, фильтрация контента — всё это делает человека объектом манипуляций.
Правительства разных стран также используют технологии как средство контроля: системы тотальной слежки, биометрические базы данных, алгоритмы предсказательной аналитики. В таких условиях свобода становится компромиссом между удобством и независимостью.
**Где найти баланс?**
Настоящая свобода в интернете возможна там, где пользователи осознанно выбирают инструменты, защищающие их право на анонимность, приватность и децентрализованное общение. Она строится на принципах открытого кода, распределённой инфраструктуры и отказа от монополизированных решений.
Будущее свободы в цифровую эпоху зависит от того, какие технологии мы выбираем сегодня. Используем ли мы их как инструмент освобождения или позволим им стать оковами? Ответ за каждым из нас.

The year has flown by in a whirlwind of protocol and app development, unexpected hurdles, multiple conferences and meetups, and amazing new friendships. We began with a simple goal—to help you keep up with what’s happening on Nostr. If there’s one thing you quickly learn about Nostr, it’s that things can move fast here. You can blink an eye and miss a major announcement or development in your feed, and we’re here to help make sure you catch it.
Our team believes that #Nostr , #Bitcoin , and #FreedomTech in general, are crucial tools for humanity in the world today. Our passion is to learn about them, use them, and help inform you about them, and we believe that passion shows through the countless hours that each of our team members pours into The Nostr Report every single day bringing you daily news, articles and newsletters, interviews, cartoons and memes, and the Lightning Round each week on #PlebchainRadio.
A week ago, we posted a survey asking for your feedback, and we appreciate the nearly 40 responses we received. We are grateful and humbled by the overall positivity toward our efforts, and we are incredibly thankful for the sincere criticisms and suggestions for improvement. We also appreciate the ongoing feedback we receive each week from our readers. Your honesty and candor will help us ensure that The Nostr Report can serve you even better moving into the future.
One of the most obvious and immediate changes you’ll notice is that we are moving away from publishing a single comprehensive daily report. As the ecosystem and variety of Nostr client apps continues to broaden, it is difficult to ensure a consistent user experience when reading our daily report. Also, as we look to broaden our topics of interest, a single daily report continues getting longer (much like this announcement, haha) which we recognize makes reading it a challenge in some clients.
Instead of a single daily report, look to our Nostr feed and our Telegram channel ( https://nostr.report/premium ) for ongoing news and updates throughout the week, and a weekly recap of important news. The #NostrTechWeekly newsletter will continue bringing you the latest tech updates and conversations. The #MarceFiles interviews, #Rita cartoons, and our #LightningRound on Plebchain Radio will also continue. And memes. Gotta have the memes.
The Nostr Report is just getting started. As we look ahead to our next year, we are excited to continue creating great ways to keep you updated and aware of the amazing things and people on Nostr, as well as exploring how we can do our part to spread the good word about Nostr and bring in new users. nostr.reportOpen tech, be afraid. Be very afraid. Microsoft owns both Visual Studio Code “VSCode” and MS-GitHub, two intertwined and utterly proprietary product-service ecosystems with a bit of open-source in their core to lure us in. Because they love open source? Yeah, no.
Soon after leaving GitPod whose technology links the two, Geoffrey Hunt last year explained their strategy and what it’s doing to our open tech world, in a great and “harrowing” article, “Visual Studio Code is designed to fracture” https://ghuntley.com/fracture/

This is why MS-GitHub is not our friend.
This is why falling for their trick, disguising MS-VSCode as a neat “free” editor, will come back and haunt and hurt us.
Vendor lock-in double-whammy. Using open source as “a financial weapon”.

If we have a grain of public spirit, if we are motivated at all by the Freedom that’s supposed to be afforded by Free-Libre Open-Source Software, we must #GiveUpGithub, we must recognise the trap, we must choose truly open #FreedomTech.
