Since I've inherited a car with a CD player, I burn my own CDs, old school style.
I hunt for EPs from the same artists on Bandcamp that I can put on the same CD in chronological order. I add or remove tracks to make things fit. I write titles in large black letters with a permanent marker. It feels special.
When I see coworkers posting only their Spotify playlists, I feel a bit sad for them. They see music as a commodity, not as something to take care of, nor inscribed in time and space.
@ice I feel you. I've never gotten into streaming because if I'm paying money, I'd rather buy a copy than just license it: that's why I bought CDs for so long since streaming on mobile became practical. I've come round to downloads though, primarily because I no longer have a CD player, but also for environmental reasons. (I still buy CDs sometimes though.)
