I think the fair use laws currently in place in the US are pretty decent (though I think the copyright term here—death+70—is abjectly nuts): must be transformative or commentative, with prejudice toward non-commercial works and works that use as little source material as possible.

That said, I do think they may be a little *too* strict and wouldn't mind a bit looser strings around it, especially considering how weird the philosophy around intellectual property is.
