@nergal gnu isn't an operating system. It's mostly a bunch of tools. Linux is just the kernel, so it's technically not an OS either. Combine them together and you have the makings of an OS.

@Absinthe @nergal RMS strongly disagrees with a lot of things that most people find crazy. Like he disagrees with having children because they're a waste of resources and add to global warming.

However, the GNU OS was never a thing. It was announced, but there was never a kernel, meaning all those fancy GNU projects wouldn't actually run as an OS. There is the HURD kernel now though, but that's outside the question.

@ozoned @nergal well gnu is his baby, and if he says it is a duck billed platipus then that's what it is :) As for his world view and other political opinions, I have no kcuFs nor rolling doughnuts for them to go through.
