@interacter clover. Soft, resilient, self-spreading, 🐝 love it, and grows very well under the shade of trees. Nitrogen-fixing! Violets are another groundcover that thrive in shade, very low maintenance but you probably wouldn’t want it as your whole yard. Speedwell is currently blooming all over mine in a soft carpet while my neighbors grass lawns are brown for the winter. For warmer months, wood sorrel looks gorgeous. I suggest a mix of low growing wildflower “weeds.”
