Hey #gardening friends - can you help me out?
(I'm not a #gardener, yet, so lots of questions...)
Having just bought a house, I'm planning to sort the front/back gardens out.
Looking for recos for grass lawn alternatives that can stand some walking on, plants that gobble down carbon and recommendations for shady patches by fences/under trees.
Garden is in West UK (#Bristol), East facing, but darkish in winter due to surrounding buildings.
Needs to be pollinator friendly & easy care.

@interacter clover. Soft, resilient, self-spreading, 🐝 love it, and grows very well under the shade of trees. Nitrogen-fixing! Violets are another groundcover that thrive in shade, very low maintenance but you probably wouldn’t want it as your whole yard. Speedwell is currently blooming all over mine in a soft carpet while my neighbors grass lawns are brown for the winter. For warmer months, wood sorrel looks gorgeous. I suggest a mix of low growing wildflower “weeds.”
