Once AI works out how to do hands then this deepfake crap is going to be one of the biggest problems the world has faced. It has the potential to be extremely damaging and we are sleepwalking into a nightmare with this. I hate everything about it.
@leemadgwick Everything may just turn back to the times when there was no photography at all. The eye witness will become more valuable than nowadays, the human, telling us stories face to face.
All electronic communication is going to be a fake decorated with mass surveillance. It is going to be a nightmare. Or, for the better part, a kind of total art.
We may only be able to wake up at the camp fire in the night.
@go_shrumm @leemadgwick but unfortunately, as the legal and psychology fields know but few others really understand the extent of, eyewitness memory is actually complete garbage, and it was a glimmer of hope that technology was just starting to move society away from such complete reliance on it.
