I’m trying to get out of the habit of engaging with posts that are screenshots of tweets.

It’s not so much a moral thing—I’m not logging into #Twitter any more and I don’t think you should, either, but I’m not going to browbeat you about it. Everyone needs to make their own calculation.

But, on the other hand, I’m not going to reward you consuming Twitter with engagement here. ESPECIALLY if what you are posting is a screenshot of someone else’s thought with no additional comment.

@maxleibman I have an ever-shortening list of holdouts important enough to me to keep going back for since they aren’t crossposting regularly yet, but while I’m there anyway fuck yeah I’m stealing Elon’s content to enrich his competition. And screenshots >> links, for obvious reasons. When the person does also have a 🐘account, even a defunct one, I tag it. I also constantly evangelize for 🐘while I’m there, with some known successes!

@AmberWavesofFlame I think that’s a well-balanced approach. And I agree a screenshot is better than a link (although—and I probably should have fit this in my original post—the “screenshot from the other two social media sites” genre is one I also disliked even pre-Elon takeover).
