WebAssembly is just Adobe Flash all over again.
@tk former is an open standard for running lower-level code in the browser while maintaining all safeguards, latter is a proprietary plugin that bypasses the browser to run insecure shit basically from the desktop and only pretend it's inside of the browser.
They're pretty much direct opposites.
@Amikke Also, sounds like WebAssembly is the logical successor for implementing arbitrary software in the browser. Did you miss that point?
the difference is now you wont have to use js as a pretend bytecode compile target.
