@xgqt as if Windows needs promoting. WSL promotes Linux more by allowing Linux environments to be standard even among those not willing or able to switch systems. The people who were using Linux until now won't switch to Windows because of it, and if it causes people to switch from macs, Apple will have more of an incentive to also implement a Linux subsystem.

It does ned propoting actually. WSL is a coping method for software devs who know that Bimbows sucks but cant get to installing Linux.
Mac will just steal Linux emulation from FreeBSD when it is finished.
