@thor that's very weird, most likely either something got messed up while changing desktop environments (something neither macOS nor windows even allow) or the problem is with the mouse and not OS-related.

@Amikke the mouse isn't causing the audio death though - this is just a part of a general pattern for me

in macOS it just works how you'd expect. Windows needs some social education but will get along too. Linux refuses to accept it. it insists on being retarded and is proud of it.

@thor I've never had such a problem with mouse and I've been using mostly Linux as my daily driver for many years now. No idea what could've even happened, betting on a problem with the mouse. The audio card problem is more typical, but I'd expect Ubuntu to ship a kernel already compiled with a whole bunch of drivers for any hardware you might want on a desktop PC.
