they put a lot of money into making various tech and entertainment things have better quality.

but they kind of figured that out in the 1950s. ever seen an Elvis movie? it's basically HD on film. with excellent colours. they figured that out already, without computers.

we've mostly figured out how to do it in digital now. but no real advance. they had good picture and sound in the 1950s for movies.

we have it at home now, which is nice, but not a real advancement. it's just cheaper now.

@thatguyoverthere @thor also editing analog film is extremely limited and usually tedious so for many uses it still needs to be digitized, losing all advantages of analog version.
