I don't know how many times I've posted variations of this, but:
I see posts from people on here like "mastodon/fedi will never work until-"
And I'm like "it already works. I am getting what I want right now. You have some unstated assumptions about what 'works' means. It probably involves importing a lot of toxic VC garbage. If we make it work by your standard it will not work for mine."

@CodingItWrong that's kinda the point of fedi, isn't it? A part of it can work by your standard, another part by someone else's.
