The reason mainstream distros like Ubuntu/Debian or RHEL and other #Linux distros keep the last 3 or 4 kernels is so that you can go back in case there is incompatibility.# FreeBSD also keep at least one old kernel on disk https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/ubuntu-18-04-remove-all-unused-old-kernels/
@nixCraft this was annoying to me when an install created a stupidly small boot partition that was filling up with with a few kernels+initramfs and whatever system I had at the time tried to keep more.
