Can someone explain why KDE does virtual workspaces for the entire desktop instead of per monitor

@BrodieOnLinux isn't that what everything does? It's a workspace, not a monitor instance.

@BrodieOnLinux apparently not every. TIL tho. Both approaches have their advantages.

@BrodieOnLinux @Amikke Every single TILING window manager. And yes per-monitor is better

@BrodieOnLinux @Amikke Except hyprland (at least not without plugins) which was annoying when I was using it. I quickly use up all 10 workspaces.

@weirdtreething @Amikke Hyprland does it just fine, what Hyprland doesn't do is have seperate counts for each monitor

@BrodieOnLinux @Amikke Oh I must have been confused by what you meant. What I meant was a different count for each monitor.

@weirdtreething @Amikke What KDE does is if you swap to workspace 2 every monitor swaps to workspace 2 at the same time

@BrodieOnLinux @Amikke Right, I remember trying out workspaces on kde and I gave up on them after 10 mins of that stupid behavior.
@BrodieOnLinux @Amikke

Which drives me nuts. One of the reasons I use KDE is workspaces aren't per monitor.
