I wonder what will happen to motorcycles as cars gradually all become electric.
@tk Motorcycles are better suited for being electric vehicles. They're just going to need a different name as there is no cycle involved.
@AmpBenzScientist You would think that, but range is a huge limitation. Can't pack thousands of pounds in batteries on a motorcycle without it impacting handling.
@tk Any purely electric vehicle will have a very limited range. The use of highly efficient internal combustion engines as generators makes it feasible. The efficiency would be high because it would be optimized to only run at the optimal output.
@AmpBenzScientist I'm a fan of microturbines and all, but there's only so much that can fit into a 400 pound motorcycle. A tourer or big cruiser shouldn't be too hard, though.
