Actually welding cast can be a crapshoot for professional welders, even if they take all the proper steps to stopdrill, preheat, and use the special cast iron specific filler rods. Most guys will just braze it and call it a day, or wind up replacing the whole part because trying to fix it will often cause cracks to propagate throughout the entire piece.
I’m just going to replace it with mild steal and do an oil treatment to avoid rust… fuck it. I said this a year ago too I think and still didn’t get around to it.
@thendrix@Christmas_Man If it was a pan I'd recommend just using it for 22lr. Good cast iron pans don't need much, hot water brush and oil em after use. Nothing like finding a cast iron pan in a dishwasher. It's time for a divorce.
