Thank god they won’t compile this vile shader anymore after all these years.

‘extraneous semicolon’ : not supported for this version or the enabled extensions

BTW the main bug dupe I saw on glslang this week was dozens of people asking to break tons of years old shaders to force people to put basically a pragma as the first line, but some extensions it makes sense for not to be… turns out even the test files don’t follow that rule.

Fucking commies will break shit just to do it, and will smile about it. :shrugz:

@thendrix Ever had to deal with VLIW hardware like AMD's preGCN architecture? Is it using the built-in shader cores or is that even a thing anymore?

To know the root of the problem is to understand how many bandaids have been applied.

I started doing graphics on framebuffer. My favorite era was proto-compute shaders with PS3 CELL SPUs. Few people at the time understood what was happening and where it was going.

Minor arch changes aren’t so interesting to me, and they don’t even matter for that long.

@thendrix OMG, I remember reading about that after looking into PowerPC. It sounds like a nightmare to write code for.

PowerPC should have stuck around for a few more generations.
