I tried giving a part of the soundtrack I'm doing for a client to a friend who also does music.

He's not working fast enough. He made a nice intro but can't seem to beat sync his DAW to my project, so he can't work on the main part, which is what I had hoped he'd help me finish.

I told him that his intro is nice, but I'm not seeing enough progress, so I'll need to take over on Sunday.

I'm kind of leaning toward a 25-75 split of the payment instead of 50-50 because while he did contribute an important part, he didn't accomplish quite what I asked for.

If that was a client, he'd get no payment, because he didn't finish the job, so I'm being nice to him. Brownie points for effort.

@thor It sounds like a common server could help. I'd be willing to help with what I can.

Maybe it's worth a quick conversation to fulfill the obligation and then a later conversation about how to improve future collaboration.
