I work with someone awesome, and over the years, we've generally become very aligned in our responses to things. That's been great when it comes to #covid, since I could trust they were being careful and would likely not bring it to work/pass it on to me.

When it came to masking, we were basically the only holdouts in our whole division.

But something changed over the holidays (did they catch it?), cuz this whole week: maskless unless I come near their desk. But we work in cubicles, so... 😧

That's got to be so stressful. Seems like everyone's given up on avoiding COVID anymore.

@BE honestly? After my parents both caught it a month apart while traveling "despite being masked everywhere," which I came to realize actually excluded: a train during meal time, a large concert hall, and a museum, plus who knows how many other not-photographed places, I kinda processed the grief of realizing no indoor space is *REALLY* safe unless people have done their research instead of just taking what others recommend at face value.

Losing that safe space was way worse. This is just odd

@Camila

I totally understand. My in-laws are not totally grasping the whole thing. They say they mask everywhere, but do the same things that you're talking about.

I learned the other day that my father in law masks all the time at the store....except when he's checking out and talking to the nice checkout lady so she can see his smiling face. *sigh*
